Now available to everyone: The caregiver’s companion to intellectual disabilities and dementia
Last night, author Alain Dekker presented the first copy to documentary maker Leendert Pot, who makes films and (together with his team) learning materials about his sister Anne, who has Down syndrome and now also dementia.

The Guide is a comprehensive handbook on the complex combination of intellectual disability and dementia. It describes many different aspects of dementia, provides clear explanations, and includes many practical examples, illustrations, and tips for finding even more information.
International knowledge exchange
The translation of the book is a strong example of international knowledge exchange. As part of the European Erasmus project, translations into several languages will follow in the coming period, not only of the Guide, but also of other products, instruments, and interventions in the field of dementia in people with an intellectual disability.
